Install the chat widget on your website
The embed script, allowed domains and how to verify it works.
The web widget is the chat in the bottom-right corner of your site. A visitor writes there, you get a ticket in Chats; the widget also shows your knowledge-base articles and collects ratings.
Step 1. Create the channel
- Channels → Add channel → Web widget.
- Two quick steps: name and domains, then the install script.
- Name and primary color — how the widget introduces itself and looks (all changeable later in appearance settings).
- Allowed domains — the sites the widget may run on, e.g.
mysite.com. Add several if needed (landing + app). On other domains a widget with your key won't start.
Step 2. Paste the script
On the channel card open “Script” — a ready-made embed tag. Paste it
into <head> or before </body> on every page and publish.
Where it goes on popular platforms:
| Platform | Where |
|---|---|
| Your own site / React / Vue | page template, before </body> |
| WordPress | theme → footer.php, or any “insert headers & footers” plugin |
| Tilda / Webflow | site settings → custom HTML |
| Shopify | we have a dedicated path — the Shopify channel |
Step 3. Verify
Open the site and send a message in the widget — a ticket appears in Chats, and the visitor shows up in “Visitors online” (with geo, referrer and page path).
Widget didn't show up? Walk through “Widget doesn't appear on the site” — it's almost always a missing domain in the allowed list or site cache.
Configure next
- Appearance: logo, colors, offline banner.
- In-widget articles: a searchable knowledge base inside the chat.
- Triggers: proactive messages to visitors.
- The AI agent, so the widget answers by itself.
